Maple Cream Puffs with Maple Glaze

Happy 146th birthday Canada!  Some people may think that’s a little old.  But I think you look great for your age!

Lemon Sorbet with Sparkling Wine and Mint

It’s time to celebrate!  Pop open that champagne (or sparkling wine...)!  Remember this post from earlier this year when I had my paper rejected?  Well after several revisions, it has been accepted!

Fresh Strawberry Tarts

Just like the heat here, strawberry season has been slow to begin.  The baskets of fruit at the farmer’s market are still fairly expensive.  But when faced with a divine smelling pint of beautiful, intensely red berries, I had to have them.

Not Deep Fried Dill Pickles

I feel like fried pickles have been haunting me.  Everywhere we went seemed to have fried pickles on the menu.  I wanted those fried pickles.  And everywhere I was met with the dreaded words: “Sorry, we’re out”, “we just changed our menu and took those off”... etc.

Sunshine Lemon Bars

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.  The sun peeked out in the past few days.  Timidly.  Just brushing our cheeks and shoulders with some warm rays.  Making us remember that summer is actually just around the corner.  That it hasn’t forgotten.

Blueberry Mojitos

I really feel like summer and warm weather will never get here this year.  I can feel myself getting whiney.  Why is it still below 20C (68F) outside?? Why is it raining all the time?  I know it’s not technically summer yet according to the calendar, but it feels like it should be here.  Oh Canada, I love so many things about you, but winter... I could do without the extra long winters.

Chocolate Pots De Crème (With Olive Oil and Sea Salt)

On the way back home from our trip to Strasbourg last week, we had to spend a night in Paris because of the odd flight schedule.  Yeah, we HAD to.  What a terrible life.

Lemon Blueberry Scones In Real Life

** These pictures were not staged.  All were taken with my phone in a very dimly lit kitchen.  Real life.**

It was an early morning here, something that doesn’t happen very often.  I guess we’re still partially on Europe time.  I found myself awake and staring at the ceiling thinking about what to make for breakfast.  The lemons and blueberries I bought yesterday seemed destined to come together in a warm and crumbly pastry.
