Cranberry Almond Oatmeal Cookies

I have been a little bit slow in posting this recipe. It is from a while ago, when the weather was just starting to feel like autumn.   There's something about baking cookies that just makes you feel warm and cozy.  Especially when they are cookies that involve brown sugar, cinnamon, and cranberries: all cold weather flavours in my opinion.

At the end of last month I hosted a French themed party to try making all the various french foods that I sampled while on my honeymoon, not the least of which were some macarons like the ones pictured above at Pierre Hermé.  There were savoury and sweet treats and all the wine we could handle!

The Great Pumpkin Challenge

So it's fall apparently... how did that happen??  It seems like just the other day we were still sweltering.  Oh well, another summer gone and there's no looking back!

And what says fall better than pumpkin!?  Today I had this crazy idea that everything I made would have pumpkin in it.  So I bought a great big can of pumpkin puree and went nuts.  Pecans actually... haha.  I hope you guys will all forgive me for posting about a savoury food, but it goes with the story!

France Oh La La!

It's been forever since I last posted anything, but now that the wedding is over, the honeymoon is over, and it's time to get back into the regular swing of things, I hope to make it much more regular.

For now let me tell you about our trip.

The leftover frosting dilemma

So I made a birthday cake for one of my coworkers.  A delicious, rich, chocolate salted caramel creation.  But I ended up with extra dark chocolate frosting... Does this ever happen to you??
